party decor

braden decided on a lego theme for his party. we had some lego games, colored lego pics and i attemted a lego cake. i loved how everything turned out. (most of my party ideas came from other blogs i look at ;)) can you tell the cake is a giant lego?

thursday, april 17, 2003 i gave birth to my sweet little boy. its 8 years later and i THINK i've finally gotten the hang of this whole mom thing ;). he picked donuts for his birthday breakfast. his party pics will be up soon. (he's singing happy birthday to himself :))

1 day without shoes

me and the girlies participated in this years 1 day without shoes by TOMS. it was a real eye opener. all i could think about was how awful it would be to not be able to provide shoes for your child. as a mother i cannot imagine. we ordered ourselves some TOMS shortly after that day and im. in. love. i told braden all about them and how they give a child in need a pair for every pair thats sold. he picked red. we told him they were out and are surprising him for his birthday. :) i cant wait!

not so sure about this...

in seven short days my baby boy turns 8. it just sounds too big. 8 is so close to ten which is too close to 13 which starts the dreaded teenage years. i'm not sure how i feel about this. when did my baby get so big?

hello heat

the weather has been park perfect in the evenings. we've been taking advantage of it with bike rides and outside playing time because all too soon we will be saying hello to the arizona heat!

addison has been so lovey lately. its adorable. she'll say "wuf" and then give you a huge hug.

family fun?

we took the kids to bradens school carnival a few weeks back. i always loved stuff like that growing up so i make sure we go. this year i thought it'd be even more fun because they were having a petting zoo and addison is loving animals right now. wrong! braden had fun for about 5 mins and addison wanted nothing to do with it. she'd pet the animals through the fence but wouldn't go in and she jumped in the bouncy castle for less than a minute. oh and richard doesn't like crowds of people... well i had fun, thats what matters right?! braden waiting to catch addison almost there.. and last minute he moves out of the way and addison face plants.. haha he said she was coming at him too fast!
